What may have started as to how to tackle quarantine blues has quickly ensured the actor’s rise to the highest within the increasingly growing TikTok ecosystem. Shetty’s TikTok account now ranks within the top 50 in term of the entire number of followers, reported Social News XYZ.
Successful in spreading some cheer in these difficult times amid the lockdown, Shilpa features a whopping 17.3 million followers, be it the trends or her unique videos with “halwa”, “maid attention” or “Shaadi se Pehle”, her TikTok account is one among the top 50 globally, alongside the likes of Hollywood personalities The Rock(24.2 million followers), Will Smith(23.1 million followers) and Selena Gomez (18.4 million followers).
“We beat an unusual and unprecedented situation. It pains me to watch the news, other than the ‘virus’ there’s very little that’s positive! In the midst of this crisis, as a respite I decided to entertain myself with these videos and even featured my husband and made him the scapegoat cause he was the sole actor I came to this lockdown,” she said in an interview.
The actress went on to speak about what being in the top 50 meant to her. “The fact that my account made it to the highest 50 worldwide means people have a way of humour, and I was successful in spreading some cheer in these difficult times,” she said.
Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Raj Kundra are parents to son Viaan and daughter Shamisha, who was born via surrogacy in February. On the work front, Shilpa is now making a comeback to films with ‘Nikamma’ and ‘Hungama 2’.
