Tahira Kashyap shares an open letter on #SmashThePatriarchy on Instagram, check here

A few days ago, Rhea Chakraborty got arrested by NCB in the connection to the drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput. She was seen to be wearing the t-shirt saying, “ Roses are Red, Violets are blue, let’s smash the Patriarchy me and you”.

Many people in the Bollywood are supporting the campaign #justiceforrhea is on-trend. Recently, director Tahira Kashyap has posted an open letter supporting the campaign with her own personal experiences.

She started her letter by saying the reason for her writing this in the first place, she has lost her tolerance now and the chatter in the media have made her lose her poise. She says, “ The talk in the media, footage on the tv screen, reawakened something in her.”

She mentioned two-three real-life incidents too. The Director is living in Chandigarh with his family where she remembered an incident where the relative made a remark on her husband (Ayushmann Khurrana). She said that she was serving some Tikkis to the guest, and her guest tells her, “Look after your husband, feed him some greens.”

This made Tahira furious and angry, she went there again and told the relative that, “ Ayushmann is making her some salad and I will ask him to make an extra serving for himself.” Tahira wanted to crush his toes but she didn’t want to hear being called, “Vishkanya”, “Gold digger”, “Bengali Women”. As these were the words used to call Rhea Chakraborty. She also mentioned saying that women have been called “Haramkhor” on the live feed as he meant to mention Kangana being called Haramkhor.

She even mentioned about us already protesting it but all we get is murder and rape threats. She even mentioned about how difficult it is to maintain a position where a female could be much more fit rather than Men but still doesn’t have any clients in their gym and whereas a man who has fats in all over his body still has a huge amount of clientele.

She mentioned about the expectations being put on women and general outlook to that. She gave more personal experiences too about how women have to wait in the theatre lines or even for the Shiv Linga. Women try so hard to make a point but they just get I’ll be treated.

She concluded her letter by suggesting one thing, that whenever any of the activities happen about smashing the women, or any un equality, go and ask them to reverse the place, she says, “ Both the Khurana sons will need a place to cook, or did madam allow you to shoot while kids are in the school?

She concludes by saying everyone is experiencing this type of things but until then, Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, let’ smash the Patriarchy, Me and You!
