Famous actress, Vidya Balan has recently vowed to donate 1000 PPE(Personal Protection
Equipment) kits to the frontline health workers across the nation who need it the most.
In a video message posted on her Facebook page, the actor announced that she is additionally collaborating with celebrity shout-out platform Tring to boost money for extra 1000 PPE kits.

In the video, she said, “In the war against COVID-19 our health care professionals are like our soldiers at the border fighting for our health and freedom. Just like we equip our soldiers for the battle we must do an equivalent with our medical staff. There is a critical shortage of PPE for our senior doctors, residents, nurses and ward boys in their daily work.”

As a result, tons of our hospitals aren’t working at full capacity. Join me in changing this
now. I’m donating 1000 PPE kits to hospital and medical staff across the country. And I am pledging to raise money for another 1000.

According to a press release issued by the actor’s team, she has joined hands with Tring to supply additional 1000 PPE kits, in association with Manish Mundra of Drishyam Films and photographer-producer Atul Kasbekar.

She has requested her fans to come forward and donate for the cause. For donations made through Tring, Vidya is going to be recognising the support of each donor by sending a private thank you video message, and an opportunity for a two-minute video call together with her.

She said each PPE kit is worth Rs 650 (all-inclusive of delivery costs and applicable taxes) and it consists of 1 coverall laminated and waterproof, nitrile gloves, goggles, face shields, 3-ply surgical mask and shoe covers.

Akshay Saini, Co-Founder of Tring says, “We have all been donating in our capacities
and showing solidarity in this time of crisis. We are very grateful to Vidya who has been very generous and has donated 1000 PPE kits in her capacity, in addition to the several
other donations she is doing. Further, for every donation made on Tring, Vidya will also
recognize the support by sending the donor a personal thank you video message, and there is also a chance for a 2-minute video call with her. This video can be downloaded and shall remain with the donor in their permanent memory. While the donations are from a feeling of humanity and patriotism, the recognition received is just a bonus and encouragement. We were elated when the 1000 kits pledge was fulfilled under 6 hours of going live. People have donated from all across the globe with the first international donation coming from Ireland. It is a very powerful movement and will require all that we can give. We are in this war together.”

The health workers need to have PPE kits because even if one of them gets the
virus, the whole team will be quarantined for 2-3 weeks leading to the decrease in medical forces.
